Feeling unmotivated and uninspired? If so, it could be that you are back to playing a very small, mediocre game simply focusing on yourself. That will never sustain any real motivation or inspiration. You must expand the game. Create your life on your wall and design, design, design magnificence in excellence in your Experiential Authentic Leadership Development™ transformational life.
To create access for causing this, it is important to understand the mechanisms in your mind based in the memory design of your brain structure. There are three types of memory: episodic, semantic, and procedural. Episodic allows one to acquire and retain knowledge based on individual events that one has experienced and to recall or more accurately reconstruct temporal relationships in subjective time. In other words, travel back in time in your mind.
Episodic memory operates within awareness. Semantic memory is the result of abstracting and synthesizing what one has learned on the basis of a number of events or episodes that have some similarity. It is responsible for internally representing states of one's experience that are not perceptually present.
This often may be represented in a background of reality of being right about a situation, or jumping to a conclusion based on past experiences. For example, believing that this life has no meaning. Life is boring, so I have to get what I want out of it. All salesmen lie. Semantic memory operates within awareness.
And then there is procedural memory, which I call the Ubiquitous Automaticity Blindness of our age, which I distinguish in my Experiential Authentic Leadership Development™ technology. It is the memory of how I do things in certain situations, how I know the world really works, what is related to what. It has culminated through the acquisition of information from episodic and semantic memory. It is a sense memory of doing and being.
Procedural memory, on the other hand, operates outside of awareness. It is automatic. The brain is designed to automate such behavior and cognitive processes because of the brain's inefficiency and inability to regard every situation as fresh and new. If a present situation is similar enough to an older situation, procedural memory will drive the new situation.
In Experiential Authentic Leadership Development™, we interrupt the parts of procedural memory that do not serve what we are ultimately committed to. You must identify what does not work currently in your procedural memory design, which is causing the lack of motivation and inspiration, and replace it with what does work.
That takes consistent, proactive creation of your new world, your new identity in the form of EALD practices, procedures, images, thinking, thoughts, diagrams, operating conditions, environmental transformations, culture shifts, the articulated future you are manifesting every single day, an EALD structure of the future you are living into.
You need to flood your brain with your new world, with your new identity. If you are unmotivated, then you have just lost your grounding in the authentic, genuine, no-kidding future that we are creating here together. You have lost the identity you say you are committed to. It must be very clearly articulated to your conscious awareness so that it can be embedded into your subconscious procedural memory.
Get back to that visceral, exciting future embedded in you, and you will shift your being and doing. This is backed by science documented in the culmination of my seminal dissertation research and years of coaching thousands of people. You must have faith in the reality of the future that you are committed to creating, which is ultimately an expression of your authentic self.
This life that you have been blessed with is so much bigger than you and merely surviving it.
